Rollie Oxton of the Herald American worked the news beat from midnight to 8 am for twenty-five years. During that time he must have made more fire rescue pictures than any other photographer. Five times he has won the Ramsdell Memorial Trophy, a record. Rollie claims this photo was made as a "gag" - and who are we to dispute him?
